Something to Talk about by Meryl Wilsner

 2/5 Stars

Hollywood powerhouse Jo is photographed making her assistant Emma laugh on the red carpet, and just like that, the tabloids declare them a couple. The so-called scandal couldn't come at a worse time—threatening Emma's promotion and Jo's new movie.

I had such high hopes for this book even with the low rating however I was so disappointed as it was basically 300 pages of not very much. In theory, it sounds like it would be perfect, it has fake dating (which I am loving at the moment), employee/employer romance, age gap and Hollywood romance. But when I read it I was so bored most of the time. I didn't care about either of the characters and found that Emma was annoying more often than not especially when she would get upset with Jo for things that aren't actually that big of a deal. The romance itself was a slow burn and don't get me wrong I love a good slow burn however this was not a good low burn. We got nothing from the romance until almost the very end and by then I didn't care at all about either of them or their romance.
