Cursed Anthology by multiple

4/5 Stars This is an anthology full of short stories about curses, fairy tales, and horror. In this book you'll find  unique twists on curses, from fairy tale classics to brand-new hexes of the modern world...expect new monsters and mythologies as well as twists on well-loved fables. Stories to shock and stories of warning, stories of monsters, and stories of magic.   I always find it hard to rate and review anthologies as there are always stories that I love but also stories that I hate. I enjoyed the majority of these stories, my favorites include Henry and the Snakebox, As Red as Blood, As white as snow, and Little Red. My least favorites were Skin and Hated. I loved way more of them than I disliked. I definitely recommend this book for people who love horror and fantasy as I think there will be something for everyone.

The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Gareth Nix

3/5 stars  Susan Arkshaw is looking for her father, someone she has never met before. While looking for him she goes to see  Frank Thringley  who she thinks can help her but before they can talk he is turned to dust by a man named Merlin. Merlin is a left-handed bookseller (one of the fighting ones) who with the right-handed booksellers (the intelligent ones) are an extended family of magical beings who police the mythic and legendary old world when it intrudes on the new world. I had very high expectations for this book and went in expecting to love it as the premise sounded so cool and who doesn't love a book set in a bookshop. unfortunately, I didn't love the execution that much, the writing felt slightly juvenile and I rolled my eyes quite a bit at parts due to the style of writing. The characters were fun to follow and I enjoyed following them even though at times I wasn't entirely sure what was even happening as it felt like a hundred things were happening in a short

My Favourite Series of all time

I did a post a couple of weeks ago showing my favourite childhood books so I thought I'll share my favourite series. 1) The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare Ok look I understand why people hate this series but it's one of the series that helped get me into YA fantasy and will always have a place in my heart, plus I went into it already knowing the book three plot twist so I wasn't too bothered by those scenes. 2) Carry on by Rainbow Rowell I read Carry on when it was a standalone and I loved it so much the characters were amazing and I have never read Harry Potter (shocker I know) so the comparisons never bothered me. when the second book came out I was a bit apprehensive as it worked so well as a standalone but I ended up loving it and the third one is almost better than the first one. 3) Scarlet and Ivy by Sophie Cleverly I try to stay away from books with twins as one usually dies and as a twin, I can't read that without crying. However, this series was so good

The Fall Of The House Of Thomas Weir by Andrew Neil Macleod

Thank you to NetGalley for the EArc in exchange for an honest review. When rumours start spreading of ghouls only Dr Samuel Johnson and his friend James Boswell can help. But what they uncover is darker than what they could have ever imagined.  It took me a while to get into this book and I was very confused by what was happening in it until about halfway through the book. I have never read a book quite like this before and enjoyed it thoroughly. However, I wasn't really scared by it like I thought I would be. Overall, It was very well written and I think anyone who loves books that make you think will love this.

Last Night At The Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo

5/5 Stars America in 1954 is not a safe place for two women to fall in love however Lily Hu and Kathleen Miller manage to find love at the Telegraph club where they find themselves and each other. This book made me feel all the emotions and I loved every second of it. The romance managed to be both breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. I just wanted to wrap Lily up and protect her from the world and everyone else in this book. I loved the setting of the club, I don't know much about gay clubs at the time this was set so reading about it was interesting. Overall I recommend this to literally everyone and if you haven't picked it up yet please do.

Introduction to myself

Hello everyone! My name is Abigail, I'm 20 years old and I love in the Midlands UK. I currently work as a business administrator and would love to one day open my own bookshop with my sister. I don't have any hobbies outside of Reading and writing. I used to love swimming but I haven't been in a while and was planning n get back into it before lockdown but I still haven't taken it back up. I first got into reading in primary school, I loved all of the books and was constantly looking for the next book that I could pick up. As a child my favourite author was Jaqueline Wilson, she definitely cemented my love for books even though a lot of her books dealt with hard topics that I hadn't come across before. I loved to read my parent's books as well and all the books at both of my grandparent's houses even though some of them weren't age-appropriate at the time and I probably shouldn't have read them. I first got into writing in high school I used to writ

Final Girls by Riley Sager

3/5 Stars *Spoilers* Quincey Carpenter is a Final Girl, she survived a deadly massacre when all of her friends didn't. Lisa and Sam are also both Final girls and when one day Lisa is found dead by a suspected suicide and Sam turns up at Quincey's house looking for answers things soon start to take a deadly turn. This is my second Riley sager book and it is my least favourite out of the two. I don't know if the characters were supposed to be unlikable or not but I couldn't help but dislike all of them and didn't really care what happens to them. The reason this is 3 stars however is that the plot was so intriguing and the plot twists were all so unexpected and well written. There was a slight cheating plot that I hated and found unnecessary and made me dislike Quincey even more. The reveal at the end as to who the killer was and to who Sam is kept me interested, however, I wasn't too upset when the killer was revealed to be Coop as I really didn't care about

The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun

5/5 Stars This book follows Dev who is a hopeless romantic and the producer for the reality tv dating show Ever After and Carlie who is significantly less romantic and is the Prince Charming on the latest season of Ever After.  I read this earlier last month and I'm only just getting around to doing a review on it. But this book was so amazing and worth all the hype that it's getting and hopefully will continue to et more hype. The characters were so believable and I couldn't help but root for them both separately and together. I loved how they both improved themselves without each other for themselves and improves themselves together for each other. The plot was also amazing and the humour was just brilliant.  Overall I think this is one for everyone even if romance or contemporary isn't your favourite genre.

My Favourite books Part 1

I do a lot of book reviews on here but I've never posted anything about books from the past that I have read and absolutely loved so I thought that I will do a little series on here showing all of my favourite books. For part one I will be talking about all of my favourite childhood books, which now that I'm writing this will mostly be Jaqueline Wilson books.  1) Black Beauty by Anne Sewell This is the first book that I ever remember being gifted to me. Horses were and still are my favourite animals so to read a book entirely from a horses perspective when I was younger was mind-blowing and an experience that I love to revisit all the time. 2) Boys Don't Cry by Malorie Blackman This book was one of the first YA books I had ever read at the time, it was bought for me by my Dad from a small indie bookshop when I was visiting my grandma. The book was so wonderfully written it follows a teen Dad whose ex-girlfriend one day arrives with his baby and then leaves them both, I lov

She Drives Me Crazy by Kelly Quindlen

5/5 Stars When high school nemeses Scottie and Irene literally crash into each other they are forced to share a car to get to school while Irene's car gets repaired. This brings up an opportunity for Scottie to get back at her toxic ex and climb the school's social ladder and bribes Irene into coming along for the ride.  This book was phenomenal. It had everything, a queer sports romance, a romance between a cheerleader and a basketball player, enemies to lovers, fake dating, only one bed. It was the most perfect YA romance and I think everyone should read it. There is a slight miscommunication where Scottie thought that Irene hated her as Irene played a prank on her in the past, however, Irene meant to do it to someone else but because their cars were the same make Scotties' car ended up being towed. While I hate the miscommunication trope usually but this book pulled it off so well. Scottie and Irene were brilliantly written and I definitely felt for both of them towards

You and Me on Vacation (People we meet on Vacation) by Emily Henry

4/5 stars Every Summer Alex and Poppy go on holiday together, they are best friends despite having very little in common. However two summers they ruined everything and haven't spoken since. Now they are going on one final possibly fatal trip together to hopefully fix everything.  I don't really read a lot of romance books and recently a lot of the romance books that I have read have been disappointments. So going into this I was a bit apprehensive about it and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not, luckily I very much did like it. It was the perfect friend to lovers and a second chance romance book. Alex and Poppy were perfect for each other and while they both annoyed me at times hence the 4 starts and not 5 stars I felt like they really balanced each other out and mellowed each other while still managing to bring out each other's personalities. I loved the time jump and going back in time to other summers to watch their relationship develop, it was definite
