My Favourite Books Part 2

 A few weeks ago I wrote about my favorite childhood books and my favorite book series. I now want to share with you all my favorite standalone books from now.

1) The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep by H.G Parry

This book follows Rob and his younger brother Charley who has the magical ability to bring book characters to life. 

2) The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa

With his crooked tail--a sign of good fortune--and adventurous spirit, Nana is the perfect companion for the man who took him in as a stray. This follows a man and his feline companion as they travel across the country to find someone to take in Nana.

3) Heartless by Marissa Myer

This book is about the queen of hearts before she was the queen and before she lost her heart. 

4) The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M Danford

Cameron Post is living a normal life until the girl she has been seeing outs her to her family and her religious family sends her to conversion therapy in hopes to 'heal' her. 

5) Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell

When her best friend dies after using an ouija board Sophie moves to live with her cousins in an old boarding school on a remote island. While there Sophie thinks that the house is being haunted and as more and more weird things happen she thinks that something more sinister is at play.

The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E.Harrow

 4/5 Stars In a sprawling mansion filled with peculiar treasures, January Scaller is a curiosity herself. As the ward of the wealthy Mr. Locke, she feels little different from the artefacts that decorate the halls: carefully maintained, largely ignored, and utterly out of place. Then she finds a strange book. A book that carries the scent of other worlds, and tells a tale of secret doors, of love, adventure and danger. Each page turn reveals impossible truths about the world and January discovers a story increasingly entwined with her own. I have to be honest here, I read this one a few weeks ago now and if you asked me what the plot was I would have no idea. I've read over the synopsis and I still haven't got a clue. However, what I do remember is that the writing was phenomenal and the characters were amazing and well written and it felt like I was with them the entire time I was reading it (even if I don't know what they were doing).

How to Book A Murder by Cynthia Kuhn

 I received an E Arc from net galley in exchange for an honest review 5/5 Stars *SPOILERS* Emma Starrs family bookshop is close to closing and desperate to save it Emma agrees to plan a mystery-themed party for her arch-nemesis Tabitha from school. However, what starts out as a delightful alcohol-filled party soon turns into a party planned worst nightmare when Tabitha's husband ends up dead. Emma along with her Author aunt is suddenly suspected with Tabitha telling everyone she can that they are to blame for her husband's untimely death. Can Emma and her aunt find out the truth before they are behind bars? This book is the perfect autumn read. It has everything to get me in the spirit, Halloween, murders and a bookstore. Emma was a delightful protaganist and while at times i felt like giving her a shake I was rooting for her the entire time. Anticipated Releases for the second half of the year

 I'm not always on the edge of my seat for new releases as I usually prefer waiting until it has been out for a while until I read a book, however there are a few books that I can't wait to get to  1) The Dragons Promise by Elizabeth Kim Shiori’s quest continues in the soaring sequel to the New York Times bestselling young adult fantasy Six Crimson Cranes.
